Wandering Sara di
Welcome to the wanders!
I work fulltime for an ISP (Internet service provider). I am able to be remote 80% of the time for that, with 20% working in market events or attending in person meetings. I also work part time for the Ostrich Ranch. I have worked for the Ostrich Ranch since late 2020. I had been full time nomad from 2018 to Nov 2020. I had come back to Tucson for a week long visit and applied at the ranch on a fluke and go hired on the spot. So I stayed on site at the ranch, as a Guest Specialist working with the guest and animals, for 6 months while I worked there full time and worked to show my value as the Social and Digital Coordinator. Once I was confident that I no longer wanted to work in the heat on site, I stepped back to part time hours and started staying in Tucson with my husband and family. When I went fulltime nomad in 2018 I sold my home and my husband and his 3 children got an apartment close to the kids school so that I could travel at my leasure and we didnt have a huge overhead. I was working on the road where I was. I was able to do "thrift flips", door dash, uber and amazon flex where ever I was. I traveled all around AZ, CO, NM, UT, OK and some CA. Never once paying for a camp spot. I was 100% Nomad in my travel trailer and vehicle. The trailer and vehicle changed a few times thru that time. Now I have a 2018 4Runner Limited and a 2020 Forest River Wolf Pup. I took a full time position with the ISP in the summer of 2021 after being recruited into the company by a former coworker, with the intention of remaining nomad. Unfortunately the position turned out to be in office with the option to be remote in the future. So I remained with the company and made sure to excel at any point I could so I could get back on the road as soon as possible. To date I have had 3 promotions with the company and with each I become more and more free of being tied to a location.
